Light therapy that clears sun damage, pigmentation and redness for clearer skin.
If sun damage, pigmentation or redness have left your skin looking uneven, IPL treats it all across larger areas in one efficient treatment. Pulses of light target the brown of pigment and the red of broken vessels at once, fading discolouration and refreshing your overall complexion. We use the Lumenis Stellar M22™, the medical-grade platform from the company that invented IPL, with the advanced XPL handpiece for precise, powerful and consistent results. It's one of the most versatile treatments we offer for clearer, brighter, more even skin.

How It Works
Broadband light is absorbed by the pigment and blood vessels in the skin. The energy breaks excess pigment into smaller particles and reduces the visibility of dilated vessels, which the body then clears naturally over the following days. The result is more even tone, less redness and a fresher complexion overall.
What Happens in a Session
We cleanse the skin and apply a cooling gel, then deliver pulses of light across the treatment area. You’ll feel a light, warm snapping sensation, a little like the flick of an elastic band, with the platform’s cooling helping to keep you comfortable. Treated pigment often darkens immediately, taking on a “coffee-grounds” look before flaking away over the following days. The treatment is efficient even over larger areas. Afterwards we apply soothing products and SPF, and explain the simple aftercare, including strict sun protection, that protects your result.
Downtime & Aftercare
Minimal. Expect some redness and warmth for a few hours, and treated pigment to darken and crust slightly, like fine coffee grounds, for several days before flaking away. Strict sun avoidance and daily SPF are essential, as the skin is more vulnerable to UV.
Sessions & Frequency
A course of three to five sessions, spaced three to four weeks apart, gives the best results, with maintenance as needed. Your plan is confirmed at consultation.
Suitability
The XPL handpiece is suitable across a wide range of skin tones, up to Fitzpatrick 5. It’s best avoided on recently tanned skin, as the light targets pigment, and it isn’t suitable during pregnancy. Suitability and skin type are confirmed at consultation to ensure a safe, effective treatment.
